two-player formulation

(original) Suppose two players in a lottery game. The first player purchases AA number lottery tickets, and the second player purchases BB number of tickets, for a total of (A+B)(A+B) tickets. Then the probability of AA winning the lottery is

PA=AA+BP_A = \frac{A}{A+B}

(later formulations denote A,BA,B as "effort")
